Digital Content Creators Associationof
Kenya

We champion the voice of Kenya’s digital creators — building a future where talent is protected, potential is nurtured, and content creation becomes a thriving career path for all.

Who Are We?

The Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya (DCCAK) is the first legally recognized and nationally mandated professional body for digital content creators in Kenya—and a pioneering force on the African continent.

Founded in February 2024, DCCAK exists to organize, advocate for, and professionalize the work of digital storytellers who use platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, blogs, podcasts, Facebook, and streaming services to share ideas, entertain, educate, and influence society.

We are a non-profit, membership-based association representing creators from every county, genre, and platform—ranging from comedy and commentary to education, health, advocacy, tech, fashion, and more. Our mandate is to build a thriving and inclusive creative economy where content creation is recognized not only as a legitimate career, but as a powerful driver of youth employment, civic participation, national identity, and social impact.

At DCCAK, we believe content creation is more than entertainment—it is a form of leadership, a vehicle for development, and a cornerstone of Kenya’s digital future.

What Sets Us Apart

Legal Recognition: DCCAK is the first legally registered association of its kind in Africa, giving us the legitimacy to advocate for creators’ rights and engage policymakers on matters affecting the digital economy.

Professional Mandate: We go beyond visibility and virality. Our focus is on building systems of legal protection, structured monetization, formal education, and ethical standards that transform content creation into a respected profession.

Inclusivity & Equity: DCCAK is open to all creators, regardless of platform size, background, location, or genre. From rural counties to urban centers, we ensure that women, youth, and marginalized voices have equitable access to opportunity.

Strategic Leadership: Our leadership is composed of some of Kenya’s most accomplished digital creators and media professionals—including Chairman Bob Ndolo, Secretary General Terence Creative, Director Trevor, and Board Member Lucia Musau—backed by experts in law, policy, media, and development.

National Footprint: With upcoming regional engagements across all 47 counties, DCCAK is building a truly grassroots-to-national framework that reflects the diverse landscape of Kenyan creators.

Our Vision

“To build a sustainable, ethical, and inclusive creative economy in Kenya where digital content creators are respected as professionals, protected by policy, empowered by knowledge, and central to national development.”

Our Mission

To organize, empower, and advocate for Kenya’s digital creators through structured programs in training, legal protection, partnerships, and policy engagement—ensuring that content creation becomes a respected, secure, and sustainable profession.

Our Identity as Creators

We are not just influencers—we are educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and cultural ambassadors. Whether it’s a TikTok skit addressing mental health, a YouTube documentary on rural tech, or a podcast on youth civic engagement, our creators are shaping Kenya’s digital identity and global presence.

At DCCAK, we are creators, but we are also citizens, change-makers, and custodians of Kenya’s future.
